Who is Ibn al Haytham
Hasan Ibn al-Haytham was a medieval mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age from present-day Iraq.
He made significant contributions to the principles of optics, astronomy, and mathematics, and developed his own methodology: experimentation as another mode of substantiating the fundamental hypothesis or premise. He preceded Galileo as a physicist by almost five centuries. His book "Kitab al-Manazir" (Book of Optics) laid the foundations of the modern study of optics and greatly influenced the field's development in the centuries that followed. Ibn al-Haytham was a true polymath, excelling in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and philosophy. He demonstrated how various fields of knowledge could intersect and inform one another, underscoring the value of interdisciplinary thinking in solving complex problems.
